Something, Somewhere

Right just when we found out about the upcoming long weekend, I thought staycation would be nice. Just a few minutes walk from Festival Mall, and right across South Station, there you may find Crimson Hotel in Filinvest, Alabang. Upon research, I found out that it is a 5-star hotel according to hotel booking apps.That being said, I had my expectations higher than usual. I read other blogs and saw that they indeed had a great stay on the place so I wish ours will be the same. When we entered the hotel, we were instructed that the lobby was located on the 8th floor of the building. Chandeliers on the elevators, why not? :) The moment we stepped out of the elevator we already felt the 5-star vibe it gives to their guests with how big the place is. The lobby was really huge. We just recently went to Vista Tala in Bataan. Another place we found perfect to de-stress and unwind from the busy life we all have at work. With just 3 1/2 to 4 hrs away from Manila, Vista Tala is situated almost at the top of the mountain that's why you expect a really cold weather and a very poor if not no signal at all - perfect if you want to get away and relax for a period of time. We went there on weekday so there's actually not much people except for those that are there on a day tour. We were a bit late from their usual check-in of 2pm. Good thing they are not that strict in terms of check-in period. Since we arrived late, we decided to rest for a while and do some picture taking since its nearly sunset and the weather is getting a lot colder we opt to swim in the morning instead. Located at Esteban Street in Makati, there's this posh restaurant called Your Local. I love the fact that its a bit hidden as it is inside the bldg. there's just a signage that Your Local was located there. We went there last week as I treated my boss for lunch. Since we are so hungry by the time we came, I had no time to take a picture of the interiors and the business signage itself. We read some reviews and suggestions on what is best to eat, so here's what we got: Salmon Donburi and Laksa Fettuccine  (The meals here are already good for 2 people sharing I guess) We also ordered their chili crab buns which is soooo good, that as you may notice in the photo, its only 1 and a half burger because we already tried it before I took the photo. :p  Since this buns came in late, we got a free oatmeal milk ice cream which also tastes like heaven. There is this not-so-new beach resort in Playa, Calatagan, Batangas named Aquaria Beach Resort. It is a 3-hour drive from Cavite.  It is a beautiful place perfect for a summer getaway. If you feel like swimming in the beach or by the pool, you may do so as they have both. This is what you'll see when you arrived in the place, This is the beach place. It is not too far away from the pool so you don't have to worry if you need to transfer from one place to another for the sake of the children that you brought with you who wants to swim in the pool instead. Just be careful because we saw two jellyfish in there, good thing we were not stung. Their pool. This is I think one of the highlight of the place.
