Things to Remember when travelling to Hong Kong

Image
Hong Kong Trip on a Budget: We went to Hong Kong last November 21-23.; shortly after the APEC happened here in the Philippines. Our flight was 5:30am on Saturday. Thank goodness also our flight was not delayed. Cebu Pacific was our airlines then. We arrived at Hong Kong y 7:40am, it’s just a two-hour plane ride. The obligatory ticket and passport shot. Our passport cases are courtesy of Storage Solutions Okay, so here are the tips that I can suggest when you are a first timer in Hong Kong: 1. Exchange Peso to Hong Kong Dollars beforehand, or even right after you landed at the airport because you are gonna be needing it right then and there, especially if you plan to have your breakfast at the airport, or you need to buy your Octopus Card upon riding Bus or MTR. 2. When you are riding the bus, you sit next to the TV so you can track where you are already and what stop should you get down the bus. There is an operator who would sometimes speak the loading and unlo...

Milky & Sunny: One Milkshake type of Afternoon

Image
So me and 2 of my boss finished early in our meeting around Makati area, we expected it to last long so we payed for 5hrs parking. But in the end, we finished the meeting within 15mins. So we thought that instead of wasting the P90.00, we go somewhere near first, and then we spot the Milky&Sunny Cafe, There was also a Barenaked Sugaring Salon Branch there so my boss also decided to have a quick waxing. haha! As far as I read in their menu, the cafe was owned by the Magalonas, there are food in the menu that is even named after them like Elmo's omelette. Since its merienda time, and we don't plan to stay so long there, we just ordered milkshake and grilled cheese. All I can say is, their prices are worth it. Especially with their milkshakes. You can really feel the milky-ness of it. We tried their bestsellers. Vanilla for my boss, Chocolate for me, and Oreo chocolate for my other boss. Their milkshakes are priced P190.00 and their sandwiches are worth around P220...

Museum Visit: Pinto Art Musem Antipolo

Image
So yesterday was me and the boyfriend's 33rd, and since it fell on a Saturday, we thought of celebrating. This is the first part of our celebration. We visited one of the becoming more and more famous nowadays museum, the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo. The place was so beautiful and the paintings and art pieces for me are all very mysterious. If you are really into art, then you'll appreciate this place as much as we do. As you enter, you'll be directed straight towards the registration area where you should also pay the fee. P180.00 for the regular price and P100.00 for the student. When we got there the weather is starting to be in bad mood. The sky is already dark and the thunders are already roaring up there. Here are some of the photos that I can share to all of you. See for yourself how beautiful the place is. This is the second hall that we visited. There are a lot of art galleries in this place located in different places that's why th...

Mt. Pinatubo: My Beautiful Disaster Experience

Image
Thank God for the long weekend. Last June 13, is our scheduled date of trekking at Mt. Pinatubo. We were supposed to try it out at Tripinas but then we ran out of slots, so good thing there's Sonia Bognot's. Plus, it's a bit cheaper. We only have to pay P2,050/person. They just require a downpayment of P1,000 for the reservation of your slot. Here comes June 13. the call time is 2:30am at McDonalds Quezon Ave, we had to leave by June 12 at night.  We were just in time in the 2:30am call time. since we thought we're the first passenger, we leave first our bags at the van then buy something to eat at McDo. Our driver was so accommodating. He even let us sit in the passenger seat because we were only two. But then after we bought out breakfast at McDonalds, we were told that we are about to transfer to another van because the driver underestimated the number of passengers in his van. So here comes the second driver who assisted us to our seats on his van, it turn...

Slidefest 2015: 1000 Feet of Happiness

Image
There are a lot of events lately scheduled on May 16 and 17, 2015 like the Closeup Forever Summer, Music Evolution Manila, and the Color Manila Run. We chose to attend the Slidefest because its a first, and we're not guaranteed if it will be repeated again. May 16 was the first day, and we tried it on May 17 because May 16's slots have easily been sold out. Slidefest first took place in Subic, and as far as the comments that i've been reading is concerned, not everyone had that "1000ft of happiness". Like any other events, it has it own flaws. So with all those that i've been reading, i did not expect ours to be the best. The venue where it happened is soooo hard to find especially for commuters, we walked a long way just to get there, but its understandable because the place they chose was mostly grassy around, not buildings wherein we could distract the people working or the passers by. It took us a long time to find it. We were scheduled to start at 1...

Staycation in the Metro: Azure Urban Resort Residences

Image
Right at the heart of Bicutan and Paranaque, is Azure Urban Resort Residences. It is located just beside SM Bicutan. Owned by the socialite Paris Hilton, this will surely give you the vacation feels even though you are just staying in Manila, or, you have a lot to do in Manila that you can't leave for a long time. We came at Azure by 2pm. We found a contact there so we only paid for 300 pesos each. Though i'm not that sure that outsiders are allowed to go inside, we saw a lady surrendering the wrist bands, locker keys and paying P3,000 for the 6 wrist bands. Meaning, it cost P500 each person for outsiders. We're lucky we found someone selling it for a lower price. The place is easy to find actually, we thought it would be hard to locate, but it isn't. The place is big, though mostly is under renovation. Three condominiums or 4 are being built as of the moment, so its really hard to get a picture-perfect view of the condominiums. The security is...
