Slidefest 2015: 1000 Feet of Happiness

Image
There are a lot of events lately scheduled on May 16 and 17, 2015 like the Closeup Forever Summer, Music Evolution Manila, and the Color Manila Run. We chose to attend the Slidefest because its a first, and we're not guaranteed if it will be repeated again. May 16 was the first day, and we tried it on May 17 because May 16's slots have easily been sold out. Slidefest first took place in Subic, and as far as the comments that i've been reading is concerned, not everyone had that "1000ft of happiness". Like any other events, it has it own flaws. So with all those that i've been reading, i did not expect ours to be the best. The venue where it happened is soooo hard to find especially for commuters, we walked a long way just to get there, but its understandable because the place they chose was mostly grassy around, not buildings wherein we could distract the people working or the passers by. It took us a long time to find it. We were scheduled to start at 1...

Staycation in the Metro: Azure Urban Resort Residences

Image
Right at the heart of Bicutan and Paranaque, is Azure Urban Resort Residences. It is located just beside SM Bicutan. Owned by the socialite Paris Hilton, this will surely give you the vacation feels even though you are just staying in Manila, or, you have a lot to do in Manila that you can't leave for a long time. We came at Azure by 2pm. We found a contact there so we only paid for 300 pesos each. Though i'm not that sure that outsiders are allowed to go inside, we saw a lady surrendering the wrist bands, locker keys and paying P3,000 for the 6 wrist bands. Meaning, it cost P500 each person for outsiders. We're lucky we found someone selling it for a lower price. The place is easy to find actually, we thought it would be hard to locate, but it isn't. The place is big, though mostly is under renovation. Three condominiums or 4 are being built as of the moment, so its really hard to get a picture-perfect view of the condominiums. The security is...

New Cafe Discovery: Pret A' Manger Cafe in U.N.

Image
We were around U.N. area yesterday for some errands. We were looking for a different cafe. It says on Google Map that it is just around the area, when we felt like we can't find it, we saw this cafe. We just passed by it on the plan of looking for the other cafe. But when we saw this, we told ourselves why not give it a try. From the door itself, since its glass, you can already see the price of the food and drinks. We noticed that it is affordable enough so we gave it a try. There were two group of people dining in so we did not hesitate, at least we won't experience the "all eyes on us" kind of dining. I just love the red couches that they have for the guests. It gives you the feeling that you are really home. Plus, as you can see on the picture, it still has second floor, which gives you also the chance to see and enjoy watching everyone that comes and go downstairs while enjoying your favorite coffee. This is what we ordered. White mocha frappu...

Tarapumwesto: Who says Kawali can't be your Plate for Eating?

Image
There's this small place in Noveleta, Cavite that is starting to get famous these days, the Tarapumwesto. We arrived there a little earlier so the line is still shorter. They only have few tables inside so bleachers were provided outside for the people who will dine in. We waited for almost 10mins, then we were assigned to our seat. Beforehand, they already asked for our orders, so when we sat down, we just waited for our orders. Their menu is normal, tapsilog, chiksilog, liemsilog, kawalisilog, etc. But the experience is what makes it different. Tahdah!! kawali is going to be your plate. Your drinks are also put in a mason jar, just the way it was adored by many nowadays. We also got extra rice because the boyfriend insisted, I was surprised to see that their extra rice, was also placed in a mini kaldero. Its like it is custom made for extra rice like this. The owners and servers were also very accommodating and friendly enough to assist us with all our request...

Java Jazz: Hidden Coffee Shop Discovered!

Image
We were looking for best coffee shops in Tagaytay, and we found the one called Java Jazz. Its near the Ina ng Laging Saklolo church. Its one of those cool places where you feel relaxed and at home. It gives you the vibe that you wanna stay there forever. This is where you're orders will be served. Though you have an option to sit on the floor or on the chairs, (don't worry they also provide one) but this is more of what they are familiar with. Coffee experience while sitting on the floor and this table. This is what I am talking about. Everything is made of wood. The place is low ceiling-ed. too. There are different paintings around the ceiling. They were happy ones don't worry. They don't portray other lonely meanings like most paintings that were put in the coffee shops. This is what I ordered. Its Irish Hazelnut Cappuccino and Chocolate Coffee Cake. Everything was so affordable. The cake only costs P125.00 its bigger and cheaper ...

Beantage - A New Place for Coffee Lovers

Image
There is a place somewhere in Imus, Cavite, (specifically in Patindig) that is what we call, Beantage Cafe.  It's  small cafe that is starting to grow since it was established not so long ago. It's a good place where you can relax and unwind may it be with your friends, or with your loved ones.  We ordered their best-sellers, oreo caramel, and ferrero. With these drinks, you can really taste pure ingredients from the milk and the chocolate that they used., Plus the actual ferrero and oreo. Oreo Caramel is worth P155.00 and Ferrero is for P160.00. We also partnered our drinks with their rice meals which I may say is really good, and worth the affordable price. As recommended by a friend, we ordered the sizzling t-bone steak, and sizzling chicken wings. Everything was so good. It comes in big servings. Up to now I still can't forget the taste of everything. The T-bone steak was P125.00 and the chicken wings was  P120.00 Just in case ...

Quick Ilocos Getaway

Image
Last September 30-Oct 2, 2014. We had a short trip to Ilocos. We got into the PARTAS bus station at almost 5:45pm. Good thing we got there a little in time, because we according to our research, bus from the PARTAS station in Cubao going to Pagudpud leaves at 6pm. When we got there, the officer told us that there is no bus going to Pagudpud in that Partas bus station branch, the ones going to Pagudpud are in Sampaloc, Manila. We thought about it, if we are going to go to Sampaloc for it, but we though that we still won't make it in time. So we just bought the ticket going to Laoag. The bus fare going to cubao costs aroung P639 each (with student discount) We got to Laoag at 3:30am. (Expect that you won't get a decent sleep in the bus in the 9hours of travel) After we got there, we checked in Texicano Hotel to freshen up and take a bath. We asked the hotel if they have short stay accommodations since we don't have plans on staying there for too long, but they said tha...
